Computer Engineering
CPE
Diploma Option: National Diploma in Computer Engineering
Programme Philosophy
The Department of Computer Engineering trains graduates to function as computer technicians in manufacturing, assembly, service, power generation, telecommunication, and related industries.
Programme Objectives
- Graduates capable of performing preventive and corrective maintenance on computer installations, equipment and appliances, with ability to conduct testing and measurements
- Technicians who can operate relevant equipment and installations whenever required, and prepare simple bills of quantities and specifications
- Graduates able to coordinate and supervise craftsmen in activities related to computer engineering services
Duration
Minimum of 4 semesters of 17 weeks each. Students are expected to register a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 20 credit units per semester.
Electrical/Electronics Engineering
EEE
Diploma Option: National Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Programme Philosophy
The establishment of this Department is to train graduates who will be electrical and electronics technicians to function effectively in manufacturing, assembling, servicing, power generation, transmission, distribution and utilization, telecommunications and other related industries.
Programme Objectives
- Construct simple electrical/electronic circuits; assemble, install and test-run equipment
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on installations/equipment; select appropriate instruments for testing
- Operate relevant equipment, prepare bills of quantities and specifications
- Coordinate and supervise craftsmen in electrical/electronic engineering services
